April 2024 proved to be an electrifying month on the autocross circuit. With a diverse field of competitors and an impressive array of vehicles—from modern electrics to classic muscle—the day delivered high-octane action and nail-biting finishes.
A Stellar Performance at the Top
Leading the pack was Christopher C in his 2018 Tesla 3, clocking an astonishing 48.57 seconds. His performance not only underscored the competitive edge of electric vehicles in autocross events but also set a high benchmark for the rest of the field. Trailing closely was Kevin M in his 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with a time of 50.45 seconds, proving that vintage American muscle still has a place on today’s tracks.
Diverse Classes, Unified Passion
The event featured multiple classes, allowing drivers of all backgrounds to showcase their skills. The “oth” class saw some remarkable performances, with names like Amanda B (2018 Tesla 3) and Eli B (2019 Hyundai Veloster N) consistently challenging for top positions. In the performance-oriented “p05” and “p04” classes, Engelbert M in a 2012 Porsche Boxster and Michael K in his Porsche 911 Turbo delivered strong showings, highlighting the precision and agility of finely tuned sports cars.
Classes like “i01” provided their own set of surprises. John T’s run in the Porsche 997 and Richard G’s performance in a 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo both carved out impressive positions, demonstrating that even in niche classes, competitive spirit thrives. The “lad” category was represented by Jess L in a 2003 Toyota Celica GTS, rounding out a day that celebrated the sheer diversity of autocross competition.
An Unforgettable Day on the Track
Beyond the raw times and technical performances, the event was a testament to the camaraderie and competitive spirit that defines autocross racing. Whether it was the finely balanced handling of a 2016 Ford Mustang GT or the veteran grit of a 1963 Ford Falcon driven by Zach S, every run contributed to a tapestry of speed, skill, and sportsmanship.
As the dust settles on April’s results, congratulations are in order for all participants. Each driver showcased not only technical prowess but also the heart and passion that makes autocross a unique motorsport experience. With such promising talent on display, anticipation is already building for the next event at SHN.PCA.ORG.
